Making Change Happen with Jody Litvak

Even with a great idea, and excellent planning and design, change is often painfully, frustratingly slow. In this talk, Jody Litvak draws from her 40-year career in government and community relations to explore the critical bridge between idea and reality. Moving a project, program or initiative from concept to a finished product requires more than technical expertise; it demands a deep understanding of tactical implementation, public-sector lobbying, coalition-building, the complex web of community interests and decision-making. Using real-world case studies, including the political navigation of major infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, Jody will break down the strategies necessary to manage this “messy” but necessary process.

A former LA Metro executive with over 30 years in transportation planning and implementation, JODY LITVAK is considered an expert in public policy, government and community affairs. She has delivered major transportation projects across greater Los Angeles including the Purple Line Extension, ESFV Transit Corridor, Airport Metro Connector, C Line Extension and more. She has successfully developed strategies to build alliances and coalitions among public officials, opinion leaders and diverse stakeholders, often with competing interests.
