Zen in the Art of Travel Behavior:
Using Visual Ethnography to Understand the Transit Experience

I feel that much of the time involved in riding transit is waiting for it to come! It seems to take so long as I wait at the bus stop alone, but it is beautiful weather and I start doing some reading.

Riding the bus in the front, I saw the view of the road as if I were a passenger in a personal vehicle. The two bike racks on front are full.

There were lots of people on this bus, and as always, a wide spectrum. The trash bag was someone's bag, he was transporting something.

I feel that when I am not reading or doing anything while riding the bus, I look out the window and see if the other traffic is moving any faster.

This picture that looks very similar to the previous picture is just to show that there are just a lot of cars.

Since I am still new to LA, some of my bus riding is looking out the window to see what this place is made of.

There is always a sense of camaraderie with other folks who are on transit--even the bus drivers will give each other a wave once in awhile.

The bus carries on its way.
